Team RV

Team RV

Team RV is the World's Largest air show team, performing in North America. Team RV has a unique combination of formation aerobatics, precision large formations, with non-stop action, smoke and noise. Started in 2002 by Michael Stewart in Atlanta, Georgia, this group spans members from several states across the southeast.

Team RV flies an 10-12 ship formation aerobatic and large formation routine. They consist of very experienced pilots, including both experienced military fighter pilots and private general aviation civilian pilots.

Greg Koontz

The Lycoming AEIO-360 engine with 180 horses, inverted fuel & oil systems and large wing allows for an up front and down low performance. Greg Koontz flies this popular plane through a solo aerobatic routine that demonstrates its agility with a full set of outside loops, vertical rolls, snaps & tumbles and inverted passes. The grand finale is a down low, in the dirt inverted ribbon cut!

Clem Cleaver

Clem Cleaver

Flown in the 1946 Piper J-3 Cub, this act begins as Greg - farmer Clem Cleaver - climbs up on the announcer's stand, demanding a flight lesson. Later in the show, he "steals" the plane and takes off alone, with his whole crew chasing. Grandpa shoots off a tire to get him down, and Clem lands on his pickup truck as it races down the runway.

The Aeroshell Team has been performing for over twenty years, amassing thousands of hours in front of airship fans all over North America.

The North American Advanced Trainer AT-6 “Texan” Nicknamed “the Pilot Maker”, the North American AT-6 Texan first appeared in 1938. Originally designed as a trainer for the United States Army Air Corps, the Texan was the primary training platform for all airmen in World War II that went on to fly fighter aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, F4U Corsair, P-40 Warhawk and others. Today Texans are still flown as basic trainers and light attack aircraft by the air forces of 22 countries.

Now specializing in the high-powered radial engined aircraft, award winner Larry King has been performing at airshows and aerobatic competitions for the past 14 years.

Test Pilot for the Pitts Model 12, Larry flies the ultimate aircraft in aerobatic performance. The Pitts Model 12 has the highest thrust to weight ratio of any aircraft flown in airshows today. The rate of climb approaches 4,000 feet per minute with the roll rate over 360 degrees per second. The Pitts model 12 swings an 8 foot diameter, 3 blade propeller that produces over 1600 pounds of static thrust. The Pitts Model 12 can fly as slow as 50 MPH on climb out or zoom down to ground level at 250 MPH.

An extreme aerobatic duel between Mark Sorenson and Buck Roetman flying the two Russian Yak 55's painted like Tumbling Tigers competing to fly through the most smoke rings without getting distracted by Chris Darnell's 12,000 HP fire breathing Flash Fire Jet Truck below. The winner of the smoke ring contest challenges the Jet Truck to a high speed race. The Jet Truck catches the "Tiger" Yak at a blazing 350-375 MPH at air show center!

This act is sure to be a crowd favorite for all ages, mixing all the fun and entertaining elements of a family friendly circus with the extreme speed, high intensity, fire breathing excitement given only by combining all the elements of Flash Fire Jet Trucks and Tiger Airshows!!!
